Today's trip out which I do most Sundays WX permitted to do some portable HF radio .

I had seen yesterday that Bob M0MJA was going to activate 2 Lighthouses and just had to try and work him today , The first one was a bit difficult on 40m but his signal peaked above the contest stations and managed to get the first one in the log using the 49:1 & 40m to 10m antenna by " UK Antennas " see photo below.

The radio was the Icom IC-705 5w and bands where 40m 7 mhz and 80m 3.744 mhz .

I also managed to work a couple of portable stations around Europe these been > SQ9BQW/P Sota Ref: SP/BZ-082

The Antenna above was the " UK Antennas 80-10m " with the coil hence the bend on the pole.

Total worked today was 55 and the band was in much better shape than yesterday and previous activations.
